Messy House

So, last week I dropped the kids off at school and had picked up the house before we left - it was in great shape. At 2:30, I picked them up from school, came home and fed them a snack, jumped on the computer and talked to my friend Lissa for about 15 minutes. When I got up from my computer and saw my house, I could not believe my eyes! It was a complete disaster. I was still on the phone with Lissa and she said "you have to take some pictures and send it to me!"

Notice, the chairs are all moved from the dining table, Emm changed her own diaper and left the dirty one on the floor (I later found a couple more old diapers scattered about), toilet paper is flung from here to who knows where and amongst all of this, Emm changed her clothes about ten times and left each piece in a different room! Uggghhh!!!

Claire's Spring Sing

Ok, so first the Spring Fling and now the Spring Sing.... goodness! Way to confuse a mom of 3! All within a weeks time... anyway - Thursday night was Claire's Spring Sing. She got to sing on the stage with her classmates. She is so funny. She will act like the craziest nut at home, but when it's time to get on stage - she freezes! Ha! She's going to be like me unfortunately. I mean, I am the one who graduated from A&M without EVER giving a presentation. Don't ask me how because I will have to divulge my secrets that are not pretty. This had an unfortunate affect after I graduated because I actually had to get a real job. It wasn't until my last job at Baker that I think I finally got over the "I want to kill myself" feeling before I would give a presentation! :)

More about Claire... she makes this adorably cute face with her lips. She pooches them out. It's a nervous thing. I'm posting my first video clip on the blog. It was taken with my camera and turned out really fuzzy, but here goes anyway. Check out what she does with her mouth. Too cute. The show started at 7pm and I got there at 5:45 to get front row. I thought for sure that I wouldn't be the only crazy mom up there that early, but come to find out I was. Sad... And then, I was really frusterated because the teacher didn't put Claire on the front row so I could get a clear shot of her with my video camera. Who does Mrs. Jean she think she is anyway!?! Ha! :)

On a side note... the custest little boy with the plaid shirt on the front row is Ian (totally blocking my view of Claire by the way). About a month ago, Claire came home and said Ian was her boyfriend. At 4? She was so cute about it all until Daddy and I started the teasing. She doesn't like that very much and has since become so shy around him. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Thursday after the show, Ian said "Bye Claire!" and she wouldn't even look at him. I was saying "look Claire, there's Ian!" I was trying to push her towards him but she wouldn't budge. Maybe Dan and I should stop teasing...? Nah!!! Never!!!

Ok, since we are on the subject of Claire I have to give one last update... I had to tell her a couple of nights ago that if she was going to continue to pick and eat her boogers to please keep it at home. I went on to suggest that if she does it around people at school they may tease her and I don't want to see her get her feelers hurt. What else should I do? I've tried the whole... don't pick your boogers, that is disgusting, they are bad for you, you will turn into a booger... I hope this will at least turn her into a closet booger eater...? She did tell me Thursday when she got home from school that she didn't pick or eat her boogers at school! Yipee! She was so excited and proud of herself. Priceless.

Ok, so here goes the clip where she is really nervous at first (don't know who she was, but the little girl in the pink dress was HILARIOUS)

Here's another where she started to participate a little

Spring Fling

Last Friday I took the girls to the Spring Fling at their school. There was so much to do. They had a petting zoo, hay ride, train ride, all sorts of carnival rides, jumpies, tatoos, etc. All for 2 bucks a kid. I think their favorite part was eating their first sno-cone though! What I absolutely love about children is it's the smallest things that make them happy. I've learned so much from them... and I am not taking any of it foregranted.

Easter 08 & Other Fun Stuff in March

Oh my goodness I'm a little late... where do I start? It seems the month of March was so busy! Here are Claire & Meg at the rodeo dressed in their cute outfits. Mamo & I took them to their 1st concert - Hanna Montana of course. I think they were a bit shocked at the amount of people in the Reliant Center. I sort of forgot that I've kept them in a little bubble their whole life....

Dan and I had our 5 year anniversary and he took me to Mark's American Cuisine. I can't believe it has been 5 years already! The time has flown by. If you've never been and you are looking for a fabulous dinner with your significant other this is the place to go! It was so yummy!!

My friend Sandy and I took Claire, Megan and her daughter Reese to the rodeo just to go on the carnival rides and look at the animals. This was another first for Claire & Megan. And, I was amazed at how brave they were. They went on everything they were tall enough to ride. Poor Meggie had to sit out a few but Sandy was happy to sit out with her! Ha! Sandy was feeling a bit ill in the stomach after the 1st couple rides, so I made sure to go with Reese and Claire on the remainder! I can't believe how much fun I had. We laughed so hard. Reese had no fear and never showed any sign of being scared. Claire on the otherhand was really scared but didn't want anyone to know it. It was so obvious by the look on her face but she said "mommy - I'm not scared!" So, she stuck it out and I was so very proud :) Pappa Smith would have been proud too.

Easter was a big hit. We had it at Mamo's house and Nana & Pappa came over. Her house is perfect for an egg hunt because it is cozy and beautifully manicured with great landscaping to hide all the eggs. I was so suprised that Emma knew exacatly what to do.
