Our Christmas break started with a little party with Lynn, Kara, Deneige and our kiddos at my house. The kids are really starting to get to know each other and had a a good time. I think this week Bradley has a crush on Meggie.... :)
We spent the day of Christmas Eve at Nana and Pappas. The kids had a good time running around and playing outside. It was such a pretty day. Gustie made the best Fried Chicken I have ever eaten... And so, I ate 3 pieces along with all the other yummy sides... We then opened gifts and Claire was amused that she got an apple in her stocking. She asked Nana "why did you put an apple in my stocking?" It was pretty funny. When we got home, we baked chocolate chip cookies for Santa and made him a thank you card, which has been a tradition. All the girls ate a big cookie and then Emma couldn't quite understand why she couldn't eat Santa's cookie too...
Christmas morning was so much fun. Claire woke up first and was tickled that Santa left part of his cookie. So, of course she went straight for the left-overs!!! Santa brought Claire the Rose Petal Cottage and other goodies. Meg got a kitchen and Emm got a horse that she doesn't like at all! Ha! So, hopefully she'll grow into the horse. Claire and Meg sure do like it though... After opening gifts and trying to pry the kids away, we all went to Mamo's house. They had a blast making cookies with Mamo and again opened more gifts. They got a See Saw for the backyard and other goodies. Mamo cooked a nice lunch that we chowed down on and I slept which is always what I do when I go home. And then to end the evening, Dan made the girls their first hot coco ever with yummy marshmellows. And, they loved it! I was suprised Emm drank it and Claire had 2 cups!
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and you all have a safe and happy New Year!

Callaway Christmas Party
On Saturday, we hosted the Callaway Christmas party. And, like every year, we laughed and laughed and had such a good time. Here are just a few pics of the most popular Secret Santa gifts. Look closely at some of the gifts, this will tell how much fun Dan's family really is!!!

RPR Christmas Party
Dan's boss Bob always puts on the best Christmas party every year. However; every year I have attended I have either just had a baby or about to have another baby. So, when this year rolled around I was thrilled! Dan and I stayed in a hotel in downtown Houston and we had a limo that picked us up from the hotel and took us back. Both of us not having to drive.... hmmmmm... double trouble! But, we had so much fun. Here's a little slideshow.... At the beginning of the evening I was quite proper - by the end I was hanging out in the parking lot trying to suck down my last jack and coke and dancing… yes, in front of his co-workers, customers and whoever else...?.... oooohhhhh....

Daddy & Meggie - Side by Side
Megan, my middle and my most spirited for sure, loves her Daddy. I was telling someone the other day that when Dad is at work, I will look at Meggie and I can almost read her face. Then, she'll blurt out "I want my daddy!" Now, I know she loves me; but when her dad is around it is another story. She loves going with Daddy to the grocery store or Home Depot with just the two of them on Saturday mornings. Wherever he is; she wants to be right by his side. Here are some cute pics of them the other day chewing on a Pomegranate and spitting out the seeds. I love moments like these...
Getting in the Christmas Spirit
Dan, the Make-Up Man!
I never thought I would hear those words... My husband actually trying to teach one of the girls how to put on make-up... ha! But I did.... The other night as I was sweeping the floor, I heard Dan say to Claire.... "no Claire, you don't put the make-up in your eye ball, you put it on your eye lid like this..." It was great fun. The girls really got a kick out of Daddy dressing them up. Click on the pic to enlarge Claire's face - it's hilarious! Oh, and notice how he layered on the colors on her eyelid. He's good isn't he?

Megan turned 3!!!!
We've had every party for the kiddos at our house, but this year decided to do Pump it Up for Meggie for 2 reasons. First, Meggie loves the bouncies and anything adventurous. She's going to be skydiving by age 5. Secondly, her birthday is so close to Thanksgiving we knew we would be exhausted. It turned out pretty good and even some of the adults joined in on the slides. Her cousins were in town and she was thrilled. Also, one of her best buds from her old school came to the party. She hadn't seen him in about a year and they were so cute together. A little shy at first but then it was Meg and Carson together at last. She just adores him and I'm so glad he came! :)In this one picture, you can see how she was leading him around... too cute!
Thanksgiving 07

We had a real nice Thanksgiving. My cousin Jamie chased the girls around the house and that is always a big treat for them. That's the first thing they said they wanted when they heard Jamie & David were coming over! Thanks Jamie for wearing them out. They slept really well. Oh, and Jamie made the best Turkey I've had yet.... fried of course. :) As you can see, Emm and McKenna ate too much!
Dan turned 43!
Did I really marry someone that old? He! I always give him a hard time about that, but honestly, he acts like he's 23. :) I tried to take him out or do something special for him, but he said all he needs is what he already has: his home and his family. awww.... how sweet. He said he wanted to stay home, have a steak and smoke a cigar. So, that's what he did on the eve before his bday. And, he even picked up and cooked his own meal! I got out like a champ on that one! Here are pics of his actual birthday on the 21st. Jason and his girls Madi and Mckenna came in town for the weekend. Mamo bought Mexican food and we had a nice time.

Halloween
This year Claire was Sleeping Beauty, Megan was Cinderella and Emm was a Fairy. Oh, and Mamma was Tinkerbell. The reason I dressed up this year (as I never have before), is because Claire frantically woke me up at 6:15am one morning a few weeks before the big day. She jumped onto my bed, woke me up and said "Mamma, we don't have a costume big enough for you... what are we going to do?" She was truly stressed out about the whole situation. At that moment, I knew I would be dressing up with them for years to come. They chose the outfit - I would have preferred to dress in some black/witch costume, but they wouldn't go for it. So, Tinkerbell I was! It was our first time trick or treating and they couldn't believe every house had candy for them. Emm did so well, she would not put down her bag of candy and carried it the whole way! She did have a big problem with the homes that tried to distribute the candy sparingly. They would try to hand it to her and she did not like that a bit. She wanted to grab herself. So, she finally decided to take the candy they handed her but to also sneak her hand in for some more! Needless to say, she got twice as much as her sisters :)
Esmerelda
I couldn't start my blog without introducing our first Callaway pet. Ezzie arrived on Mother's Day 2007. Keep in mind, my husband has a habit of getting me gifts that only HE wants. We won't discuss prior gifts; just know this is habitual and very disturbing. You see, Ezzie has a Poop problem. She shits wherever she goes. That means, all over our back door, porch, kiddie trampoline... you name it - it's got poop on it. However; I must admit it is a joy to watch my children and neighbors get such a thrill out of such a simple part of life. The girls fight over who gets the egg each day and who feeds the chicken. They think it is amazing how we get an egg each day. When it's Meg's turn to get the egg, she religiously hands it off to us and smells her hand as she screams "ooohhhh, it smells like chicken butt!" Claire carries Ezzie around like she has been in our family for years. They take her to the top of the play set and bury her in the sandbox. This is the 1st time I've ever said this and I'm saying it to the world.... Dan, thank you for Ezzie; I'm happy she's a part of our family and I want her to stay! :)
